EMS International - in colaberation IQARUS & PADI - have created the first scalable dive medic programme available:
The DMR - Diver Medical Responder! |
In the initial stages, when treating any kind of illness or injury – whether diving or non-diving – it is essential that those who respond have a solid foundation in emergency medicine. |
Proven to have the biggest impact on survivability, Emergency or First Responders are the essential link for those that are injured or acutely ill, especially in remote locations. The Diver Medical Responder (DMR) course enables you to provide the initial treatment and coordination of evacuation to further medical care for an injured diver. |
As divers venture further and further off the beaten track, it is vital that they understand how to deal with all kinds of emergencies. As a DMR you will be able to confidently apply the appropriate skills to provide the immediate response to casualties, especially in the event there is either a delayed, unskilled or non-existent emergency ambulance service available. |
Designed as a scalable product, the DMR Programmes prepare you for any eventuality - divng or otherwise. The Diver Medical Responder courses provide the essential knowledge and skills – focussing on instilling a sound understanding of the “what’s”, “why’s”, and “when’s”, as well as the "how’s” – that are the underpinnings of pre-hospital care for diving related emergencies. This allows DMR trained personnel to adapt and react appropriately for the benefit of their injured colleagues, when circumstances occur outside of the “norm”. |
