The IQARUS MIRA programme is now available in Thailand & Southeast Asia! |
Developed by Iqarus and provided under license by EMS International, the Medicine in Remote Area Course (MIRA) aims to provide those of you who already have experience in Pre-Hospital Care, with the skills and knowledge to be able to deal with casualties in the remote and hostile environments. The course focuses on stabilisation of the ill and/or injured, as well as providing the knowledge and skills required for prolonged field care. |
The MIRA course is certified by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh – one of the world’s longest standing centres of excellence for surgical and medical training (established in 1540AD). |
MIRA builds on the Challenging Environments Emergency Responder course (CEER) and is designed for those of you who are working – or looking to work – in environments where there is a constant and inherent threat to safety, where there may be significant delays in evacuation to definitive care. It is designed to give you the confidence to react effectively and efficiently, in the event you or your colleagues sustain a life-threatening illness or injury, where there is minimal external medical support and where significant delays in the evacuation process may be expected. |
The Medicine in Remote Areas course is the ideal solution for medically trained individuals working in the oil/gas industry, the media industry, with expedition and exploration personnel, as medical support for disaster relief and humanitarian organisations, as part of mountain rescue operations or with search and rescue teams. |
